You Will Need

  • Green Velvet Cake Mix:
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup Oil
  • 1 8" Round Pan
  • Red Velvet Cake Mix:
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup Oil
  • 1 8" Round Pan

Pan Size / Bake Time

  • 2 9" Round Pans: 23-27 minutes
  • 24 Cupcakes: 20-23 minutes

Baking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease sides and bottom of each pan with shortening or oil spray. Flour lightly.
  2. Blend green velvet cake mix, water, oil and eggs into a large bowl at low speed until moistened (about 30 seconds). Scrape sides of bowl. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into first pan. Set aside. Repeat above mixing instructions for red velvet cake mix. Pour batter into second pan.
  3. Bake both 8" cakes immediately for 29-34 minutes. Cakes are done when toothpicks inserted in center comes out clean of crumbs. Cool cakes in pans on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing. Cool completely before frosting.

High Altitude Baking

Single 9" Pans: Preheat oven to 350°F. Stir 2 Tbsp. of flour into each red velvet and green velvet cake mix. Prepare as directed above. Bake at 350°F for 24-28 minutes. Cupcakes: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line muffin pans with baking cups. Stir 2 Tbsp. of flour into each red velvet and green velvet cake mix. Mix as directed above. Bake at 350°F for 19-23 minutes.
