blueberry muffin mix

Recipe Description
We have enjoyed the Duncan Hines Wild Maine Blueberry Muffin Mix for many years. However, when it was recently changed to the "whole grain" version, it is virtually inedible, in my wife's and my opinions. Please make your non-whole grain mix available or we will have to make our muffins from scratch. Thanks.

I have been eating your blueberry muffins as long back as I can remember. I have been very disappointed in your new recipe made with whole wheat. The Simple Mornings are better but still not like the original muffins. Please, please bring back the original blueberry muffin with the crumb topping. Simple Mornings is okay, but not like it was for years. Let the customer decide between the original or the whole wheat.

In response to the comments about the bad whole wheat muffins, try the new blueberry muffins by Duncan Hines called Simple Mornings. They are delicious! Add some nutmeg and cinnamon and extral real blueberries and they are better than the original that was non whole grain.

We tried Simple Mornings and they were not anywhere near as good as the discontinued Wild Maine Blueberry Muffin Mix! Our Sunday mornings are now ruined! We used to enjoy these so much and would have paid double for them! We are so disappointed DH has discontinued these..--Chris, Matt Pauline & Paul

I am sorry that Duncan Hines has made such a huge error with the Blueberry Muffin Mis... That is a shame... they were wonderful and my family has used it for ages and no other companies could touch it and the strusel topping was heaven... I bought the new kind with whole grains and thought it was just new packaging and thought everyone at the table would choke at the same time... we thought we had done something to them... then read the box and I hoped that it was maybe in addition to... but not replacing the old kind... PLEEEZE BRING THE OLD ONES BACK!!!

It used to be my favorite as well and I miss eating them as much as baking them these days.

Gosh..I'm so glad to find so many DH fans that agree on this. I used this Blueberry Muffin mix for many years and it truly was the best on the market. However, as the family got smaller and I baked a lot less, I didn't look for it for quite a while. When I decided that I really had to make these, I searched at different markets for quite a long time before giving up on ever finding it again. What a disappointment!! I did see the whole grain mix, but wouldn
wouldn't buy that....it's always junk!!

What were you thinking? Why take away the best Blueberry muffin mix of all times? Not everyone likes the "whole grain" muffin mix! Give it back to the old Blueberry muffin die hard people! Disappointed customer!

Really. My wife has now been buying Betty Crocker mix for the last year now. Those DH Blueberry Streusel topping muffins were absolutely the greatest. This whole grain crap is just that...CRAP. Duncan Hines clearly doesn't care because I wrote them an email over a year ago about it. I was surprised to see this little forum which this company clearly doesn't listen too either. We continue to purchase another brand because these things aren't worth feeding to the critters that visit my house everyday looking for a handout.

I found a recipe that taste just like the streusel topping Not Whole Grain. I'm sure you could use a different recipe or your favorite recipe for the blueberry mix. The recipe for the streusel is 4 Tablespoons of sugar. 1 Tablespoon of flour. and 1 teaspoon of oil. I used vegetable oil. The best part about this is you can make as much as you like. instead of the little package that they give you. Hope this helps.

Streusel Topping:
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon flour
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and flour. Add oil and mix together until full incorporated and you have a sandy texture.

Cont. muffins. I have been in search of a replacement muffin and will be heading to Target soon. I hope Duncan Hines is enjoying the profits from their new product line. Of course, as I have searched for other brands of muffin mixes, I am also perusing other brand mixes of bakery items. Big mistake Duncan Hines. You should consider listening to the masses of formerly devoted customers and bring back your original muffin mix recipes. If not, we are obviously planning to take our business elsewhere!

I, too, have been a loyal fan of Duncan Hines Blueberry Muffins for my entire life...until the new whole grain version. My family and I were so dissapointed with the new product. We took a couple of bites and trashed the the remainder of the

I agree with all of these posts! The Blueberry Streusel 100% Whole Grain muffin mix is, to put it bluntly, AWFUL! The muffins have an offensive odor and and unpleasant dense texture. Not to mention how bad the flavor is. Such a waste of money and ingredients.
I used to buy nothing but Duncan Hines, now the search is on for a palatable muffin I can serve to my family.
I'm unable to rate this muffin because there are no negative stars to click.

Duncan Hines used to stand for quality, and my family have been loyal to Duncan Hines for generations. I made blueberry muffins with my grandmother was a child, but I won't get to make these with my niece and nephew because they smell horrendous and taste worse.

My tongue burned in an unpleasant way. The aroma in my house was noxious. These are truly terrible.

I'm very disappointed in Duncan Hines and beg you to leave the yellow cake mix alone. Switching to Betty Crocker makes me almost as ill as eating those horrid blueberry muffins.

BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE!
The new one is disgusting.

I use all Duncan Hines products because I have 2 children with milk allergies. Martha White and Pillsbury use milk!

I keep hoping they will bring back the old recipe. Our local grocery store has stopped having the new ones, no one is buying them. Please bring back the original ones. The 100% whole grain are awful, they mix up really slimy.

Okay I am so freaked out right now. Is my family the only one's experiencing the burning sensation on our tongues and throat after eating these muffins? I had no idea others were complaining until after I submitted this feedback to Duncan Hines. here's my letter: I baked these Duncan Hines Wild Maine Blueberry 100% Whole Grain muffins tonight for my family. They have a very strange taste. It almost taste like peroxide though I'm sure it's not, but that's the effect on all of our throats like a burning sensation (throats too) even after 20 minutes of eating them. (The ingredients I used were good) I'm concerned. Is there a recall or something? I've never ever had this experience with any Duncan Hines Blueberry muffins.
Well now it's been much longer than 20 min. and the burning is still there.
Maybe someone should have a lab test a sample. I think I may look into this.

Yes! I experienced the same thing last year and recently tried making them again and the same burning sensation in the back of my throat. I even used fresh blueberries thinking maybe it was the canned blueberries. Good luck with your research!

Good morning, I am looking high and low for Duncan Hines Bakery Style with Crumb Topping Muffin Mix, are you still making the product or I am wasting my time?
