I freeze my fresh cranberries. That way I have them on hand during the holidays without worrying they will "go bad" and it makes it easier to cut or chop them for orange cranberry muffins or bread in their frozen state, especially if doing so manually. LOL Of course, if chopping by hand, you may get the occassional frozen cranberry hockey puck flying through your kitchen.
