I am interested in combining two boxes of the chewy fudge brownie mix and baking in 13x9 pan. Has anyone been successful? If so, what temperature and how long did you bake it? Thanks.

Yes! I have done this frequently. Lower the oven temp by 25 degrees, I believe that would mean a baking temp. of 325. Also, it can take about 55 -65 min. I do the 'test' at about 50 min. Tooth pick in center, should not be totally dry. Best doneness test is if it starts to pull away from the sides of the pan. Allow for that 'carry over baking time' as it remains in the hot pan. Brownies cut best with a plastic knife when cool.

Please go to your local grocery store & talk with the grocery manager about ordering the amount you'd like. Stores order several times a week & receive their shipments the following day. Trucks arrive at the stores 4, 5, or more times a week & can be oftener around holidays.

I heard they grow mold spores out of date however I have used many of them out of date myself without a problem.

I've been getting this email too. Snopes says it's TRUE but not as serious and scary at it's told in that email.

I was given a lot of outdated coconut so I called the company (that's easy to do - almost all pkgs have an 800 #) and they told me to toss it - to not even consider using something THAT old.

I try to use all mixes by expiration date or at least not more than a month later. Was once told the levening ingredients deteriorated. Have heard the horror stories also about expired products. I try not to stock pile as it seems there are always deals & coupons for products. I was told there's basically a 3 -4 week sale rotation on items at the store, so if not this week, then soon. COCONUT, yes, dump that. Due to the high fat content it can become rancid.
